💰 Submitting Your Earnest Money
Now that your offer has been accepted by the seller and we have an executed contract, it’s time to drop off your earnest money check. Earnest money typically needs to be submitted within a few business days of contract execution.
Step 1: Watch for Our Email with Details
We’ll email you the exact amount for your earnest money, who it should be made out to, and where it should be dropped off. If the title company accepts e-checks through TrustFunds, we’ll send you detailed instructions on how to submit your earnest money electronically.
Step 2: Dropping Off Your Check
If e-checks aren’t available, your check will need to be mailed or dropped off directly at the title company. On the “For” line of your check, please include the property address. Try to visit during normal business hours when staff are available.
Once you’ve dropped off the check, please text us to confirm so we can notify the seller’s Realtor that it has been delivered.
Step 3: After-Hours Drop-Offs
If you arrive after business hours or at a smaller office, the door may be locked. In that case, look near the entrance for a secure drop box where earnest money checks can be safely left.
